MBTA F10 Harbor Loop Ferry Guide (2026): Schedule, Stops & Fares

Boston Harbor Ferry Loop - MBTA Ferry

Everything You Need to Know About the New MBTA F10 Harbor Loop Ferry (2026)

Boston's newest commuter ferry has officially arrived. Not to be confused with the East Boston Ferry route, the new F10 Harbor Loop is here.

As of June 29, 2026, the MBTA's new F10 Harbor Loop Ferry is now in service, offering a fast, affordable way to travel between North Station, Downtown Boston, the Seaport, and Logan Airport—all while avoiding traffic.

For East Boston residents, it's another example of how waterfront transportation continues to improve. Whether you're commuting to work, catching a flight, or heading into the city, here's everything you need to know about the new Harbor Loop Ferry.

What Is the F10 Harbor Loop Ferry?

The F10 Harbor Loop Ferry is the MBTA's newest ferry route, designed to make commuting across Boston Harbor easier during weekday rush hours.

Rather than traveling back and forth between two terminals, the ferry operates in a continuous loop connecting four major destinations:

  • Lovejoy Wharf (North Station)
  • Central Wharf (Aquarium)
  • Commonwealth Pier (Seaport)
  • Logan Airport Ferry Terminal

The service runs approximately every 30 minutes during weekday commuting hours, creating another convenient alternative to driving through downtown Boston.

  • Travels counterclockwise through the loop

Afternoon & Evening Service

  • Approximately 3:55 PM – 7:50 PM
  • Travels clockwise through the loop

There is no midday service, allowing the route to focus on the busiest commuting periods.

Harbor Loop Ferry Fares

One of the biggest advantages of the new route is its affordability.

  • Full Fare: $2.40 one way
  • Reduced Fare: $1.10
  • Commuter Rail Zone 1A–10 passes are accepted
  • Pay using contactless payment, credit card, cash, or the MBTA mTicket app
  • CharlieCards are not accepted on MBTA ferry routes.

Considering the time saved during peak traffic—and the harbor views along the way—it may be one of the best values in Boston transportation.

Why This Matters for East Boston

East Boston has long been one of Boston's most connected neighborhoods. Between the Blue Line, Logan Airport, the Harborwalk, and seasonal + year round ferry service, residents already have plenty of ways to get around.

The addition of the Harbor Loop Ferry expands those options even further.

Whether you're heading to the Seaport for work, meeting friends near North Station, or catching an early flight at Logan, Boston's growing ferry network makes traveling across the harbor more convenient than ever. As transportation options continue to improve, East Boston becomes an even more connected place to live, work, and explore.
