Boston's new Luxury Condos in 2020

Boston has long been a thriving hub of business, arts, and culture, but the city proved its worth in the 2010s. These past ten years have been a period of massive transition – and the latter half of the decade was marked by several new construction projects in the luxury condo space.

A City Under Construction

Boston’s period of progress started in 2015 with the opening of 22 Liberty, a gorgeous luxury condo development right on the Harbor in the Seaport District. The following year saw the rise of the Millennium Tower, a skyscraper that was once the tallest residential building in Boston before The Four Seasons was built. The next two years led to even greater developments - The Benjamin, The VIA, and Nema opened their doors in 2017, and 50 Liberty was constructed (right next to 22 Liberty) in 2018.

Building on Previous Success

The luxury condo developments from 2015-2018 were certainly impressive, but they were just the beginning of Boston’s hot streak. 2019 was an incredible year for the luxury condo industry, with the completion of three stunning residence buildings in the past year alone.

Bostonians looking to live on the water flocked to Pier 4, a new property that was already 85% sold out by 2019 year’s end. The Four Seasons at One Dalton – which is now Boston’s tallest residential building - stands at an amazing 61 stories and gives residents a taste of life in historic Back Bay. While The Archer in Beacon Hill may not officially open its doors until later this year, this luxurious development is already seeing massive interest from would-be residents.

Forthcoming Luxury Condos

What is on the horizon for Boston’s real estate market? Luxury condos – and lots of them! The years 2020-2022 are looking to be just as bright for Boston’s upper crust, as many more developments are underway.

In Seaport, condo hunters can look forward to the Echelon in 2020 and St. Regis in 2021. Those looking to live the modern life with a touch of old-fashioned charm can head to South End, where 100 Shawmut Avenue and The Quinn will be completed later this year. Luxury hotel and residences chain Raffles broke ground on their hotel and condo complex last year, with construction expected to be completed in 2021. And of course, those Bostonians that want to live in the humming Financial District can look forward to the opening of Winthrop Square Tower in 2022 (complete with a garage built by Millennium).

Nantucket Brings The Nautilus restaurant to Boston

The Boston Seaport District is known for some of the best seafood restaurants in the city – for good reason. With direct access to the harbor, the local eateries in this area can get their goods fresh directly from the source. In the spring of 2020, this trendy neighborhood will welcome The Nautilus restaurant from Nantucket, which will be housed in the stylish Pier 4 Seaport luxury condo building.

Nautilus Pier 4 promises to be more than just another seafood restaurant. It will bring a one-of-a-kind taste of Nantucket to Boston. The restaurant is known for flavor-packed plates that incorporate Asian and Latin American influences into traditional New England dishes. Favorites include Berkshire pork belly buns with herb salad and coffee mayo, tempura-fried East Coast oyster tacos, and a homemade udon noodle soup. Since chef Liam Mackey opened the first location in 2014, the restaurant has become synonymous with innovative, quality cuisine.

The Nautilus will join several other attractive eating and dining options in the Pier 4 building. Cisco Brewers, a Nantucket brewery and distillery, was located in Seaport this past summer and will re-open with a picturesque ice-skating rink in place of their beer garden. Another highlight in the Pier 4 building is Woods Hill, the new farm-to-table waterfront restaurant from Kristin Canty, a farm owner, and restauranteur.

The Pier 4 luxury construction condo site is the ideal place to enjoy foods and drinks of all kinds. It boasts one acre of green space with water on three sides, access to Harbor Walk, and is just steps from the Institute of Contemporary Art. By combining public spaces and private residences, real estate development firm, Tishman Speyer has curated a true neighborhood feeling in the bustling Seaport District. With The Nautilus arriving in the spring of 2020, the Pier 4 neighborhood will welcome yet another valuable addition to the community.

Woods Hill Pier 4 opens as the first farm-to-table waterfront restaurant in Seaport

Kristin Canty, farm owner, and restauranteur will be bringing a new concept to the Seaport District – a farm-to-table waterfront restaurant that will be located at the Pier 4 luxury construction condos site.  Woods Hill Pier 4 will be Seaport’s first-ever farm-to-table restaurant, making it a very unique and innovative addition to the variety of upscale dining options in the neighborhood

Taking the place of where Anthony’s Pier 4 restaurant once stood, Woods Hill will be opening its doors for dinner tonight, November 26th, in Seaport, Boston.  Canty’s farm-to-table will provide a hospitable waterfront dining experience with 140 seats with a raw bar and an outdoor patio that will seat 40.  In honor of the legacy that Anthony’s has left behind, Canty plans to commemorate the many years of Anthony’s existence at Pier 4.

The developer of Pier 4, Tishman Speyer’s Jeff Wechsler said Woods Hill “will bring something original to the Seaport’s growing retail base.” Not only is Speyer bringing a meticulously designed luxury waterfront residence to Seaport, but also more retail tenants that will be revealed in the upcoming months “that contribute to the urban respite we’re creating on the waterfront.”

Enjoy the convenience of living at Pier 4 and having Woods Hill farm-to-table restaurant along with retail options on site.  Contact Elevated Residential for more information on the pre-construction luxury listings for waterfront condos.

Best Seafood in Boston

Boston Harbor might be best known as the site of the revolutionary Boston Tea Party, but today its major draw is the source of fresh seafood it offers. Whether you want to slurp down oysters or crack crab legs, Boston has it all. Here are five of our favorites around the Seaport Boston area.

Row 34

The Row 34 website proclaims: “If we could eat oysters and drink beer for every meal period, we probably would.” No surprise then that oysters are a highlight here! Make sure you don’t leave without trying the raw bar. Row 34 is also the spot to hit for boozy brunches. Complement your mimosa with salt pollock croquettes or traditional shrimp and grits with a spicy jalapeño twist.

ReelHouse

ReelHouse dishes up a globally inspired menu put together by Culinary Director Marc Orfaly, a seven-time nominated James Beard Awardee and Food & Wine “Best Chef in America” honoree. His innovative take on New England fare includes gems like the Ahi Tuna Poke with sesame chile dressing. Bonus points: This restaurant is located by the water and offers beautiful views. ReelHouse is just under 1 mile away from 228 Webster St., East Boston at Jeffries Point.

Barking Crab

The Barking Crab has been tempting Bostonians’ taste buds for over 20 years. Expect the casual atmosphere of a clam shack in a unique urban setting right alongside the marina in Boston’s Seaport District. Their menu offers pretty much every version of lobster and crab you could ask for. If you’re extra hungry, try the fisherman's platter of fried clam strips, scallops, shrimp, and haddock.

Tuscan Kitchen

At Tuscan Kitchen you won't just get fresh seafood but also freshly made pasta. They even bake their own bread daily in their onsite artisanal bakery.   Conclude your meal with a delectable dessert expertly crafted by their master pastry chefs. Their catering menu covers everything from corporate boxed lunches to weddings. Keep Tuscan Brands in mind for your next big event and check out their private dining. Enjoy true, authentic artisan Italian cuisine with Tuscan Kitchen at it’s beautiful Seaport Boston’s location.

Ocean Prime

If surf-and-turf is your thing, Ocean Prime is your restaurant. Located in the bustling Seaport District, this restaurant offers quality steaks alongside seafood and an award-winning wine list.  Ocean Prime also has a gluten-free lunch and dinner menu, making this a great choice for larger groups where varied tastes need to be accommodated.
